Co-Pastor Teresa Betts Co-Pastor Teresa Carrington Betts was born in Raleigh, NC. She is the seventh child of Ezekiel and Beatrice Carrington. She grew up in the Raleigh area with her 10 sisters and brothers. She’s a graduate of Garner Senior High School. Just as Ruth gleaned in the fields and had her divine encounter with the man who would become her husband named Boaz, so was the divine appointed meeting of Teresa Carrington and J. Phillip Betts. The couple was united in marriage in Raleigh, NC. There, they began their destiny together. “Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table”. (Psalms 128:3) This verse encapsulates Co-Pastor Teresa. This year, Co-pastor Teresa and Pastor Betts will celebrate 29 years of marriage. God has blessed them with two sons, Maurice and David Betts. They now reside in Granville County, NC. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior in August 1985. Since that time, she has endeavored to be sold out for the Lord and is determined to go all the way with Jesus. Co-pastor Teresa has served as First Lady and now Co-Pastor of Cornerstone Christian Community Church since January 1992. She untiringly works alongside her husband and is a wonderful example of the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. She is presently the manager of the Bible Book Store in Oxford, NC. She is a powerful, straightforward teacher and preacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. She has taught classes for the Jobs Partnership Program, overseer of the Rest Home Ministry, Intercessory Prayer Ministry and the Women’s Fellowship Ministry. She is a great encourager and a fervent prayer warrior. The Lord has used her to minister not only to Cornerstone, but to many congregations in the surrounding area. Like Pastor Betts, she has a strong desire to see the church take her God-ordained position in the community - that is to see the lost come to Christ and to serve the broken, bruised, and battered people in her community and the world at large. Co-Pastor Teresa is encouraged by Psalms 34:19. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivered them out of them all.
